Mahabaratham - Characters - P
* Paraasarar
Parasarar was the grandson of Sage Vasishtar, (one of the
Saptarishis). He was a wandering maharishi who had given up all
worldly pleasures. As he was travelling in Satyawathi's
boat, he realised through divine vision that the time was right to bring
forth a great soul into this world and that a child conceived at that
time, would be an amsam of Lord Vishnu. Sage Vyaasar was thus
born through the union of Parasarar and Sathyawathi. Sage Vyaasa
was brought up by his father Parasarar who passed on all his knowledge
to his son.
* Prasena
Karna's sons were Vrishasena, Vrishaketu, Banasena, Chitrasena, Satyasena, Sushena, Shatrunjaya, Dvipata and Prasena.
* Pritha (Kunti)
The chief of the Yadu dynasty was Surasena (Shurasena). He was the father of the magnanimous Vasudeva (Krishna's father). He also had a daughter named Pritha. Surasena had promised his child for adoption to king Kuntibhoja who was childless. Pritha was thus adopted by king Kuntibhoja, renamed Kunti.
