Chola Architecture

- The Brihadeeshwara temple construction was not totally completed by 1014AD before Raja Raja Chola's demise.
- The Amman shrine and Nataraja sabha were added during the Pandya period (14-15th century AD)
- Subramanya shrine and the mandapa in front of the Amman shrine was added during the Nayaka period (17th century).
- The Marathas have also added structures outside the temple.
