    NADOPASANA

Nadopasana was started in 1968, with the sole idea of providing a platform for young and upcoming artistes. Initially, they had planned to name the sabha as 'Nada Mandir', but on Chittibabu's suggestion they decided that Nadopasana' was a more fitting name. The first performance was by Veena Balachander in the Sastri Hall. Initially, there were 2 performances a month. The sabha has a membership of 250. Realising the cause of the sabha, several senior vidwans also perform for the sabha, even though the remuneration is less.

In 1981, a Youth Festival was organised. A book containing about six or seven varnas of Koteeswara Iyer was distributed free. This sabha is solely concentrating in music programmes. There are no dance or drama programmes conducted. There has always been personal contact with the public, by distributing hand-bills, personally announcing future programmes.
