Epics
An epic is
a lengthy narrative poem, ordinarily concerning a serious subject containing
details of heroic deeds and events significant to a culture or nation.
The two great
epics of India are Ramayana and the Mahabaratha. The Ramayana written
by sage Valmiki is the story of Rama, king of Ayodhya who set an example
as a person and a ruler. The Mahabaratha written by sage Vyasa deals
with the Pandavas, Kauravas and the Kurukshetra war. Krishna assisted
the Pandavas to establish the rule of Dharma.
