Thyaagaraaja Araadhana Festival, Thiruvaiyaaru

Thyaagaraaja Araadhana, an annual music festival, a homage/tribute to one of the greatest saint-composers was held this year from Jan 8 to 13, 2004 in Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. It is celebrated every year on Pushya Bagula Panchami day when the saint attained samadhi.

This festival, the 157th aradhana was hosted by Sri Thyagabrahma Mahotsava Sabha. B. Krishnaraja Vanavarayar, president, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Coimbatore Kendra, lighted a kuthuvilakku to mark the inauguration.

Musicians & music lovers of all age gather near the saint's samaadhi to sing his compositions. Special prayers are offered to the saint-composer.

The Araadhana festival is celebrated by musicians all over the world.
