EMBROIDERIES OF INDIA-2010, a thematic exhibition cum sale of over 15 artisans from different parts of the country organised by The Crafts Council of India. 
 
Venue: The Lalit Kala Akademi, 4 Greams Road, Chennai  
Oct 25th - 31st, 11 am - 8pm 

The Crafts Council of India had brought together and displayed 16 different forms from all over India at "Embroideries of India 2010", an exhibition jointly organised by the Office of the Development Commissioner Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. 

Chamba Rumal from Himachal Pradesh, Kashmiri art, kantha work from West Bengal, Applique works, chikan embroidery from UP, Phulkari from Punjab, Toda and convent emboidery from Tamilnadu, Kasuti from Karnataka, sari, zardosi worked bags from Agra, Rabari, kutch works from Gujarat were some of the works on display. 

Cushion covers, bed and table linen, handbags,shopping bags, belts, scarves, kurtis, dress materials, sarees were some of the items available.
